As these mats come rolled up for shipping, you'll need to unroll them and give them some time to settle before using them. Unfold the mat and lay it flat, curl side down, to loosen up.
Avoid using heat or anything heavy when trying to lay the mat flat. Either one will lead to permanent distortion and warping of the mat. When you set the mat flat, it stays that way. If you want a reliable source of heat, placing it in the sunlight is the way to go.
