1. CoilMac M Plus Spiral Binding Machine
The CoilMac-M Plus is an upgraded version of the incredibly popular CoilMac-M standard, and has quickly overtaken it as the best selling binding machine, across the board. We can attribute this to the array of versatile features, all in the compact and affordable unit. The differences between the two units makes a drastic impact on the versatility and ease-of-use, with a very minor increase in price. In fact, the CoilMac-M Plus is only about $50 more than the CoilMac-M. The differences include: (1) the punch pattern perfection, which is only very slightly different, but makes a significant difference in the coil inserting smoothly and makes for perfect margins on an 11" letter size binding edge. (2) The holes are oval, instead of round, which also makes a difference on the smooth insertion of coils, especially when binding those extra thick books. These two changes have been noted to have actually increased the coil inserting speed 50% over the standard model. (3) All 53 of the punching pins are disengageable, versus only 5 on the standard model. This opens up the punching pattern customization options, helps prevent half-holes on odd sheet sizes, and opens up the versatility of document sizes to nearly unlimited.

What customers say:"Machine works great!" "Love the open punch so I can do longer sheets!" "Affordable. Good machine for the price."
What our expert says: "I recommend the CoilMac-M+ to offices that punch and bind less than about 15 books per month, but for those who may bind thicker books with varying sheet sizes. It is manufactured by Akiles, who is industry-known for manufacturing machines above-par, with higher quality metal pieces than comparable plastic machines from other brands..." What the manufacturer says: "The manual CoilMac plus is one of our top-sellers for a reason. We built it to meet the growing needs of customers to have more versatility in their finished documents, as well as to take an already fairly easy way to bind and make it even easier. This machine is perfect for small office users and is more durable and feature-rich than other options in the same class."
2. System 3000 Spiral Binding Machine
The System 3000 is my personal favorite binding machine of all time, so I was excited to see that customers agree! Numbers don't lie, and this is our second best binding machine seller across the board. This is the first ever spiral coil binding machine that incorporates not just electric punching and electric rollers for inserting, but also an electric crimper to finish your book, making it the first all-in-one electric spiral binder in its class. And the best part? The price! This durable machine is less expensive than some electric/manual machines out there, but still packs a powerful punch and looks great doing it. It has all the features you need to get an accurate punch, and adjustable rollers so you can quickly insert tiny 6mm coils up to 50mm coils with the same efficiency.

What our expert says: "Seriously, I love everything about this binding machine! There is no other all-in-one binder in the office-machines class that is able to punch, insert, and bind in a single, fair-priced unit. This thing has style!..." Read the full review here.
What the manufacturer says: "We saw a need in the market, and so we filled it. We were not cutting corners when we made this machine; it has the same great quality that you have come to know with Rhin-O-Tuff, but in a more office-level machine. We wanted it to stand out not only with its sleek black appearance, but with it's versatility of use, top-quality finish, and bottom-line pricing."
3. WireMac-M Wire-O Binding Machine
The WireMac-M is the only metal wire binding machine that made it into the top-sellers list. It is a compact manual punch and bind machine that is intended for small and medium-sized offices that might need to bind weekly or daily, but in smaller quantities. It is made of the same high quality metal manufacturing as most other Akiles binding machines, while still keeping the cost low so users with strict budgets can afford it. What is unique about this particular machine is that usually only "plus" machines have fully disengageable punching pins, but Akiles has included that feature in their standard WireMac-M. This, plus the easily adjustable paper margins, wire closer size settings, and wire groove to hold the open wire in place while you punch-and-place your sheets on are some of the most notable reasons why the WireMac is on the list of best sellers. It is easy, affordable, and brings the high-quality look of a wire bound document into the hands of the lower-volume users.

| Dimensions | 16" x 16 ½" x 16" |
What customers say:"Good machine. Does what we need it to." "Love being able to do wire instead of plastic combs. Looks much nicer." "Inexpensive and sturdy. I like it a lot so far."
What our expert says: "This WireMac M has features that other wire machines in the same price range don't have, including the punch pin disengagement, metal construction, and a 1 year warranty (instead of 90 days, pretty standard for small office machines). It is a great value for the price and intended volume."
What the manufacturer says: "Just like the CoilMac M, the WireMac M is one of our best selling machines. I think that when people compare these to other machines in the same price range, they can pretty clearly see the benefits."
4. CoilMac-M Spiral Binding Machine
The CoilMac-M is the standard version of the Plus, and is still in our top-5 best sellers. People still love the incredible affordability of these units combined with the durability of the metal construction components. The CoilMac M spiral binding machine has a manual punch with a handle, and a U-channel to shape your book spine and use as a table for manual coil inserting. Crimpers have to be bought separately, but they are inexpensive and an easy add-on.

| Pitch / Hole Shape | Spiral Binding 4:1 / Round Holes |
| Dimensions | 13" W x 17 ½" D x 18" H |
What customers say:"Very sturdy product works as described! I would recommend!" "We love this machine. It punches and binds all of our students work cleanly and easily." "We typically do smaller jobs, so it's fine for those needs. Had to put some parts together, but for the basics, it's solid and much less expensive than Kinkos."
What our expert says: "The quality of the CoilMac M machines is what sets it apart from similarly-priced units. You can spend a bit less on a 'similar' machine, but it won't last as long nor have the same punch capacity and functions to allow more versatility. It is a great starter machine, and can easily be upgraded as your volume increases with a separate electric coil inserter." Read the full review here.
What the manufacturer says: "A tried and true machine. The manual CoilMac has been around for years, and the reviews and ratings we continue to receive from new and old customers are overall positive. It is one of our staple machines; a perfect entry-level unit for those new to coil binding, with room to grow."
5. CoilMac-EX Spiral Binding Machine
The CoilMac-EX is one of Akiles' newer machines. They designed it to fill a gap in the industry; for those who do not have the volume to warrant a heavy duty electric machine, but want the convenience and ease of the electric functions for their lower volumes. Don't let the fact that it is electric lead you to believe that it is for high work volumes, though...this coil binder machine was made for the medium workloads of mid to large sized offices with the need to possibly bind daily, but not in overwhelming quantities or continuously throughout the day. The punching is performed with a foot pedal so both hands are free to handle pages, and you can turn on the roller with a button. One thing you may notice here is that it only has a single roller; this is not as efficient as a double-roller system, especially for large diameter coils, but can still be a great time saver for those who are used to manually rolling coils through. It the perfect fit for that middle-level user who need the speed and efficiency of an electric machine, but doesn't need the heavy duty punching of a typical electric machine, and a fair bang for your buck.

What customers say: "Excited to finally have a n electric machine that we can afford!" "Gets the job done quicker than our old manual machine." "Happy with this unit...it was a good buy for us."
What our expert says: "Akiles has always done a good job getting specific customers what they ask for, and eliminating features that are not necessary. The CoilMac EX is a newer unit that meets a growing need, and there are no other machines with these features and price point available..." Read the full review here.
What the manufacturer says: "We just want to bring our quality manufacturing to users of all kinds and all sizes. When we found this nice group of users, we wanted to help them too. So we made the CoilMac EX."
