Plastic snap rings are a popular solution for retail shops who need to hang lightweight signs or create point of purchase displays with multiple pages. These small plastic binder rings feature a snap lock closure that is secure once bound, but easy to un-bind by hand; simply pull the pegged side of the ring out of the hole to open the ring, or snap it in to close it. Since these binder rings let you bind by hand without any machines or tools, they are also a popular solution for at-home crafters making scrapbooks or photo swatches, as well as small businesses binding presentations, or even as small fabric swatches for samples.
Plastic book rings come in three different sizes including 1/2", 11/16", and 7/8" (0.5", 0.687", 0.875"). These sizes are the inside diameter measurements, and additional measurements can be found in the chart below. In addition, they come in your choice of color including white, black, or clear. These varieties make our plastic binding rings the ideal solution for a large selection of users and applications. In addition to the uses mentioned above, they are also commonly used to hang signs from wire baskets, and so much more.
If you love the look and usability of these plastic book rings, but need something larger, check out our oval snap lock rings as an alternative, which are made of the same material but are oval-in-shape and available in a larger size.

I RECOMMEND THIS FOR:
Plastic snap lock binding rings are a great choice for thinner book rings, for lightweight paper swatches, and for crafting. They only come in small sizes, so are not ideal for those who need to bind thicker materials; and they are made of plastic instead of metal, so are not ideal for anything too heavy either.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THEM:
If you have read any of my other binding ring reviews, then you know I am obsessed with binding rings. Plastic, metal, round, oval, I don’t care…I love them all because they are fun, versatile, and convenient! Particularly with these small plastic book rings, they are great for crafting journals and keeping accessories organized, as well as for teachers and schools to create teaching aids, and for businesses to organize paperwork that may need to be edited. Their ability to easily open and close as-needed is a huge perk, and they have a peg-and-hole design that holds well for this type of use. The plastic is slightly flexible, so there is no need for a hinge on the rings, which makes them smooth once snapped together. I also like that these plastic snap lock rings come in 3 different colors, including white, clear, and black. Most other rings only come in white or silver, so these additional options are great so you can coordinate for your specific needs. They are also very economically priced, starting at just over 10¢ each, making them accessible to anyone.
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
Plastic snap lock rings are small binding rings, only available in 1/2”, 11/16”, and 7/8” sizes, so they cannot handle large capacities. The plastic is also more fragile than traditional metal binding rings, so they cannot carry quite as much weight. And lastly, they are sold in bags with 100 rings which, for some users, is quite a lot. Unfortunately, this is the minimum quantity that we are able to offer. But that being said, for users who need quite a bit more than 100 (say, for example, 1,000 or more rings) we can often offer even less expensive bulk pricing (call our sales staff at 866.537.2244 to request a quote).
THE BOTTOM LINE:
Plastic snap lock rings are a fun and functional solution for a variety of thin binding needs, craft projects, teacher aids, and other business binding needs. They are lightweight, come in several colors, and are fun and easy to work with. If you are not quite sure if plastic rings are the ones for you, then browse our many other binding ring options, or request a sample by filling out this form or calling (866)537-2244.
At this time we only offer the sizes shown on this page for plastic snap lock rings, however, take a look at our various other binding rings, which include oval plastic rings, overlap plastic rings, metal rings, and more available in a variety of sizes.
