Overview

Add this replacement numbering head to your Count™ NumberPro Numbering, Perforating and Scoring Machine. This electric numberer head is capable of recessing the first four wheels to prevent those images from striking; for example, giving you 912 instead of 0000912. Change the rotation direction from forward to reverse by just twisting the U-frame and rotating the wheels in either direction. This Numbering Head can number single sheets or crash number up through 6 part carbonless forms. You can number your sheets up to 12 times per sheet and place the numbers anywhere on the sheet from the leading edge to within 1mm of the previous impression.

Frequent Asked Questions

Q
I have had for a while and the numbers just started sticking - how do I stop that?
Asked by Joseph
A
Regular cleaning of the numbering head will solve this problem. You can clean the numbering head wheel by soaking it in Simple Green or a similar cleaner. Use a tooth brush to scrub the wheels of the wheelset then blow out with compressed air.

Q
How to number the same thing multiple times
Asked by Camilla
A
To number the same number multiple times you can set the repeat selector. This allows you to select the number of times that the head will strike without advancing to the next number. For example, if you need to number a job that requires the same number in two (2) positions, slide the selector to “2.” The head will now strike the same number twice.

After selecting a repeat sequence, replace the head and run a test sheet. If you are still having trouble with this setting, please refer to the user manual for additional instructions.

Q
The impression is ghosting a bit on the edges. How do I adjust the numbering head to make it clear from edge-to-edge?
Asked by William
A
Leveling the numbering head is the most critical part of the setup process. If the head is not level you will get a blurred or “Ghosted” Impression. This can also occur when the head is set to hit too lightly or too heavy. Never set pressure to favor the drop wheels, for this will depreciate the life of the numbering wheels.

The easiest way to check your impression is to use a 3 part carbonless set. Program the Auto Pro Plus to stamp in one location anywhere on the sheet. Run your test sheet through the machine and check the impression for pressure as well as levelness. By level we mean a level impression. Where the impression of the 1st digit is the same pressure and impression as the 5th and 6th digit and the top of the digits is the same as the bottom you are level. We do not mean “plumb level,” as using a small level will not help.

Q
How do I make it number without 0's? I need to start with number 100 and don't want 000100. Thanks!
Asked by Heather
A
The standard Electric Numbering Head is capable of recessing the first four (4) wheels so there is no image when striking. For example, to print 100 instead of 000100, you will need to depress the first 4 wheels.

To do so, remove the Numbering Head from the Head Bracket and hold it upside down resting it on a flat surface. By doing this you will activate the Test Print button. This will keep the head in the “Open or Down” position for as long as the button is depressed. This will swing the Ink Cartridge away from the wheels or you can remove it altogether. Using the provided set-up tool rotate the 1st wheel until the 9 is in the up position. Then press forward slightly and down, you will feel the wheel depress below the level of the others. Do the same to the 2nd and 3rd wheel. Now you can print a 4 digit number.

To return to position, simply rotate the wheel and it will pop up. This feature is also available on the custom Numbering Wheel with letters. Rotate the wheel until the blank position is up then press forward and down.
