Standard Horizon BQ-160-PUR Perfect Binder and Accessories

The Standard Horizon BQ-160 PUR Single-clamp Perfect Binder satisfies the fast-growing demand for short-run digital photo books and prepared book blocks for case binding, with its PUR adhesive system. The BQ-160 can produce extremely strong, high quality perfect bound books up to 1.6” thick at speeds up to 180 cycles per hour.  The BQ-160 can handle light to moderate production needs in almost any environment.  

A dynamic color touchscreen allows the operator to easily adjust a range of settings including cover alignment with the spine, nipping pressure, clamping pressure and much more.  Other features on the BQ-160 include energy-save and auto-off functions, the ability to notch in one or both directions, and an optional carbon air filtration system to reduce adhesive odors. Suitable to produce personalized photo book production such as wedding albums and travel albums. Produces up to 40mm thick book and is also capable of padding and tape binding.   

The BQ-160 Binder can be put in-line with the CRB-160 Cover Creaser, which is setup through the color touchscreen on the BQ-160.  The scoring position is set automatically according to the book thickness input into the BQ-160.  The CRB-160 scores up to 150 lb. laminated covers, and a wide variety of scoring patterns can be selected from the touch screen.  A stand alone model is also available with an integrated color touchscreen, and it is ideal for creasing covers, restaurant menus, greeting cards and other digital print applications.

• Color Touchscreen - True book of one PUR bound book production with simple operation. A graphical icon-based color touch screen is provided for easy set up and navigation. Perfect binding, tape binding and lining binding can be performed with simple select from touch screen.
• Book block production for Case binding - 2nd Level plate is available for lining bound book block production. End paper can be added here after notching process so that lining bound book can be produced in single pass.
• Notching station - The double pass notching system produces strong book binds. Notching can be easily set ON or OFF from the touch screen. Notching cutter is specially designed for PUR glue binding so that notching cutter performs very fine pitch roughening
• Glue tank - Glue amount and cut off can be controlled from the touch screen. Teflon® coated cassette style glue tank is very easy to clean. Glue tank clearing station is prepared for easy cleaning.
• Nipping station - Strong Nipper mechanism ensures to strong and clean look book. Nipping pressure, Nipping height, Nipping time, Nipping waiting time and Nipping angle can be adjusted from the touch screen.
• Fume extraction (VS-160) - Optional fume extraction blower can be equipped for clean and comfortable operation. Extraction hood is equipped as standard for easy arrangement of evacuation at shop floor.
• Creaser (CRB-160) - Optional CRB-160 impact creaser can be on-line to prepare creased (up to 8 line) cover.
