A new cutting stick is an affordable, but essential, part to ensure you get a clean cut down through to the last page; when the blade comes into contact with a damaged stick, it can create rough edges on your sheets and prevent a cut, even if the blade is sharp and new. This naturally wearing part will get grooves from the blade, so just flip them over and use the back side once one side is done; and then replace them when it is time to do so.
