Will Coverbind covers work with Unibind Machines?

One thing to keep in mind when it comes to thermal binding is that each brand manufactures their own thermal binding covers to go along with their machines. This ultimately means that they are not meant to work with machines manufactured by their competitors.

The simple answer to the question of whether Coverbind covers will work with Unibind machines specifically is: no.

The reason they will not work is that Unibind uses a "steel binding" system that activates (i.e. heats up) when the steel plate on the machine comes into contact with the steel binding spine of their covers. So attempting to use any other brand of cover with a Unibind machine will not work, as they will not have that steel necessary to actually activate the machine.

On the same topic, Coverbind covers should be compatible with ProBind thermal binding machines, since that brand does not require a steel activation. Just remember that since everything is made proprietary, we cannot guarantee the integrity or quality of the bind, nor the compaibility when a Coverbind thermal binding cover is used with any machine other than a Coverbind thermal binding machine.
