Hello -- A slight humming is normal as the blades continue to spin when you finish shredding the paper. If the humming is continuous or not normal, then the first thing we recommend is to find the supplier that you purchased your machine from; if it is under warranty, you would need to go through them and service/repairs might be covered (if us, please call 866-537-2244 or email info@buy101.com with your order number and serial number). Why does an alarm go off every morning and wake me?

After studying with the manufacturer, we have the following comments about the different conditions of the bin full alarm for 1630mc. The alarm will beep only 3 times when the basket is full, so the shredder will not beep every morning. When the basket full condition is not changed and the shredder is powered off, the alarm will beep 3 times again when power is turned back on.
1. When the basket is full, the bin full alarm will beep three times, and then the bin full LED will light up RED continuously. The shredder will remain inoperable until the wastebasket is emptied. If the full wastebasket is not emptied and turn off, the bin full alarm will beep three times when the power turns on again, and then the bin full LED will light up RED continuously.
2. If Sensor aging occurred, it means that the bin full alarm will not beep and the bin full LED will not light up RED even if the basket is full.
