Do Puraclenz products emit any UVC light outside the device?

No, all UVC light stays inside the device, and Puraclenz products are certified to pass UL507 safety standards that include a UVC leakage test.

Is Puraclenz approved by the CDC?

No, the CDC does not approve air cleaners. NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) is the most relevant department of the CDC that relates to Puraclenz. NIOSH conducts research and makes recommendations to prevent illnesses in the workplace such as filtration materials and face masks that are not directly applicable to a product like Puraclenz.

Is Puraclenz approved by the EPA?

Puraclenz products are produced in an EPA registered establishment. The EPA does not certify, register, or provide lists of acceptable air cleaners.

Is Puraclenz approved by the FDA?

Air cleaners do not require FDA approval, but the FDA will certify medical claims made by air cleaners. Puraclenz plans to apply for 510k approval as an FDA Regulatory Class II Device that the P series models disinfect dangerous pathogens. Puraclenz plans to have FDA 510k approval at the end of 2022.

What certifications do Puraclenz products have?

Models P1500 and P3000 have passed the following certifications performed by Intertek Testing Service and reports are available upon request:

• ETL-US Listed conforming to UL507 safety standards.
• UL2998 – zero ozone emissions certification.
• FCC compliance (CFR 47, FCC Part 15, Subpart B).

Where can you mount Puraclenz products? 

The Puraclenz purifier is small and convenient for commercial spaces by using a versatile, easy to install design for tabletop, wall, or ceiling installations. Puraclenz recommends mounting units in the most central area of an indoor space, in areas most often occupied by people.
 

What is the labor cost to install?

Puraclenz products are easy to install. For ceiling or wall installations, a Mounting Bracket and Screws are included for installation similar to a smoke detector. Only when an existing electrical outlet is not used, a certified electrician can strip the plug off the power cord provided and connect to power lines that are installed in a UL-listed or recognized junction box.

 
What are the electrical requirements?

Models P3000, P1500, and P750 are powered by a standard USA electrical outlet (120V/60Hz) and only consume 15W of power. Each includes a 6ft long power cord with a 3 prong Type B USA plug.
 

How often do you have to change the Cell and Pre-Filter?

The Pre-Filter needs to be replaced or washed every 6-12 months depending on the air quality of the installation space. The Cell will run for 30 months before it will need to be replaced. These time durations assume 24/7 continuous use. The P series purifiers include indicator lights that automatically notify the user when to replace the Cell or change the Pre-Filter. It is easy to replace the Pre-Filter and Cell in just a few minutes.

How is Puraclenz better than HEPA/MERV systems?

HEPA/MERV are filtration systems that capture pathogens when they reach and enter the purifier. Studies have shown how viruses can be aerosol-based and these infected droplets go down via gravity. Commercial spaces that have HEPA/MERV filters in their ceiling HVAC systems may not treat droplets that go down to the floor and surfaces in the room. Puraclenz actively treats the air and surfaces outside the purifier, around your employees, clients, and customers.
