The Atlas C350 replaces the discontinued Atlas C300, with a combination of familiar features and expanded capabilities. Like its predecessor, the Atlas C350 utilizes the same dynamic creasing and folding technology to professionally finish digitally printed sheets. And like the C150, it utilizes a top-fed vacuum infeed table which can handle media stacks up to 7.9" high.

Like its predecessor, the Atlas C350 utilizes the same dynamic creasing and folding technology to professionally finish digitally printed sheets. And like the C150, it utilizes a top-fed vacuum infeed table which can handle media stacks up to 7.9" high.
Get ahead in the print finishing market with Formax Atlas C350 Air-Feed Automatic Creaser / Folder. This fully automatic creaser/folder is an innovative solution to cracking encountered in folding toner-based digital prints. High-speed creasing and folding are done in a single pass in the dynamic creasing matrix and patented floating knife folding system. This system can crease and fold sheets up to 51” long at speeds of up to 6,000 sheets per hour. The lifetime guaranteed creasing matrix compresses the fibers in place of cutting; this eliminates unsightly cracks on the folded edge to produce a flawless printed material. Changing creasing matrices is easy and can be done in seconds without the use of any tools. Job programs and other settings can be accessed in the easy-to-use 7” color touchscreen control panel. To set up, enter the sheet length, weight, and fold type, and the Atlas C350 automatically calculates the crease locations and sets them accordingly. Custom jobs can be saved in the control panel for easy retrieval while standard and often used creases are already pre-programmed in the machine. The top suction vacuum feed is designed for high volume use as it uses compressed air to separate and push documents through the machine. A two-in-one outfeed configuration consisting of a fully automatic belt stacker for folded sheets; and a catch tray capable of stacking sheets up to 35” long enables operators to switch from crease and fold jobs in the control panel without doing any reconfiguration in the machine. The rugged metal construction of the machine promises longevity while the compact design makes the machine an ideal addition to facilities that are limited in space. Standard equipment includes an in-line rotary perforation kit, which allows for creasing, perforating, and folding in a single pass. An optional cross perforating blade kit can be used to combine creasing and cross perforating for a variety of jobs including brochures with tear-offs. The creaser/folder can also be used as a stand-alone creaser, or as a perforator when creasing and folding are not required. The Atlas C350 features a powerful air suction pile feeder with leading-edge tracking registration and multiple sensors for accurate feeding of paper weights up to 400 gsm. Automatic adjustments and a state-of-the-art intuitive 7-inch color touchscreen ensure quick and easy setup.
Let's take a closer look at how the C350 creaser folder works. To begin, load the printed pieces onto the feeder and set the feeding guides. The feed table extension comes standard and can be pulled out to accommodate sheets up to 15 inches wide by 51 inches long. With the sheets in position, it's time to enter the creasing configuration. The Atlas C350 is pre-programmed with nine popular crease types along with settings for perfect bound book covers. In addition, users can program and save an unlimited number of custom jobs.
Using the color touchscreen control panel, select the crease and/or fold type and paper size. The C350 will adjust the crease settings automatically. With the settings entered, press start. Sheets are processed consistently at speeds up to 7500 per hour. Multiple sensors monitor the infeed for variations and make adjustments on the fly for enhanced performance and accuracy. Switching between jobs is easy; simply select the new crease and/or fold type and press enter.
The C350's innovative dual creasing perforating modules make quick work of various applications in a single pass. The C350 can be set to crease and fold, crease only, perforate only, or cross perforate and crease in one pass. To provide accurate, seamless creasing and folding, the C350 utilizes a dynamic creasing matrix and patented flying knife folding technology designed to prevent marks and scratches on digitally printed media.
The heavy-duty creasing matrix utilizes a channel and anvil to create the crease, embossing the printed sheet and eliminating cracking of the folded edge. In addition, the creasing angle and pressure can be adjusted to accommodate different paper weights and types. The C350 features dual quick-release creasing perforating modules that allow for the option of up and down creasing or creasing and cross-perforating in a single pass.
The quick-release system requires no tools, which allows creasing and perforating matrices to be changed in seconds. The C350 has a two-in-one outfeed configuration with a fully automatic belt stacker for folded sheets and a catch tray capable of stacking creased sheets up to 35 inches long. With both outfeed options available at all times, users can easily switch between crease and fold jobs right from the control panel with no need to reconfigure the machine.
