What is Toner Foil?
January 08, 2019
Toner foil is a unique product used in the printing and graphics industries. It is a foil roll that has a unique formulation of materials that activates only when it comes in contact with both a dry toner from a copier and heat. Toner foil is used by placing a strip of the foil onto a toner-printed design, and running that design through a heat source, such as either a pouch laminator or a foiling machine. When the design exits, the foil is then peeled off the design, revealing that it sticks to the toner, while the rest of the page is clean.
Toner reactive foil comes in several different colors including shimmery metallic, soft mattes, glossy pigments, color-changing iridescents, holographic patterns, and sparkling glitters.
