Description
The MBM Destroyit® Degausser & HDP Hard Drive Destroyer is a secure way to completely wipe your hard drive. The two-step process wipes the hard drive clean, and then punches through the hard drive, making it irreparable. This hard drive destroyer will accept hard drives from laptops, desktops and networks, up to 1-1/2" high.
The first step is to place the hard drive into the degausser unit, which erases the hard drive and high coercivity tape media, including all formats of LTO (1, 2, 3, 4), Super DLT I and II, AIT, 3590 Series, 8mm and more. The degaussing process takes only 60 seconds and the high field strength and encompassing magnetic field ensure the data is completely erased and non-recoverable, regardless of the operating system or interface. This process features no moving parts, so it is very quiet. There is no cooling necessary, so this hard drive destroyer is rated for continuous operation.
The second step is to place the wiped hard drive into the HDP punching unit, which will drive a hole completely through the hard drive. The punching die is made of a heavy-duty hardened nickel-plated steel. After punched, the hard drive will drop into the sturdy collection bin with a weight sensor that tells you when it needs to be emptied. It features a quiet and powerful single-phase motor that is rated for continuous operation. This unit is UL listed, ISA 9001, ISO 14001 and CE certified.
The Destroyit degaussed and HDP hard drive destroyer features the SPS® safety protection system package, which includes a safety shield, an easy switch control board using color coded back-lit symbols to indicate operational status, and automatic reverse on the punching die for jam protection and automatic stop after punching. It will also auto-stop when the waste bin is full or the cabinet door is open.
