Overview

For clients that need to make their own memo-sized ring binders, our 6-ring binder hardware is a popular solution. The six rings are separated into two groups of three, with 3/4" between each ring, and 1 ½" between the two groups. The rings have a 3/4" inside diameter and come in a traditional round shape with boosters on each end for easy ring-opening. They can hold approximately 150 sheets* or about a 3/8" thick stack of materials. The standard insert size for memo size measures 6" high for the binding edge, and 4" wide. Memo size ring binder spines are made of a durable metal in an attractive silver color. These small ring binder mechanisms are also a great choice for people making their own journals, swatch books, and so much more. To make your own memo binders, you will also need binder rivets, a rivet setter tool, and some thick custom cut chip board sheets.

Ring sizes are available in either ½” or ¾”. The ring size is the measurement of the inside diameter of the ring at the widest point. The rings are grouped in two sets of 3. Each ring is ¾ of an inch apart, and there is 1 ½” between the groups.

The spine itself measures 6 and 3/16 of an inch long, and the boosters stick out just slightly further. The ½ mechanism spine is 5/8 of an inch wide, and the ¾ inch mechanism spine is 13/16 of an inch wide.

Often used in planners, these 6-ring binder spines have a hole on each end to allow for rivets. They are intended for use with standard memo size paper, which is 6” H and 4” W.
