Hot-Knife Velo Binding (Semi-Permanent / 11-Pin) Hot-knife velo binding works by sealing two pieces of a rigid plastic (called a Velo Strip) together; one with 11 prongs and the other with 11 corresponding holes. Heat is used to melt the two strips together, creating a secure bind. They can only be unbound using a special debinder tool. Because of the tamper-proof qualities, hot knife velobinding is often used in the legal industry.

Cold Velo Binding (Editable / 4-Pin) 4-Pin velo binding works by clamping two velo strips together around your book, one with 4 prongs and the other with 4 corresponding holes. Punch your book and insert the male strip into the holes. Place the receiving strip over the prongs and use the hand-held closing took to press the excess pins over and secure them into the receiving strip. The same tool can also be used to re-open the pins and edit your book.
