Gloss Pigment Foil Fusing Rolls are made of a special toner adhesion foil that sticks to the dry toner that is used in most black and white copiers and laser printers (the foil will not adhere to wax based inks from laser printers). Unlike metallic foils that are completely opaque, pigment foils may have a "color shift" when foil fused. The color shift is affected by the underlying toner color. We recommend that customers print a test sheet with colored toner bars ranging from yellow across the color range to black. After the color bars have been printed, run the sheet through the fuser using the pigment color foil. This will allow customers to gauge the amount of color shift they can expect with a give color of pigment foil fused over a specific color of toner. Keep these test sheets for future reference. Foil Rolls are on a 1" core. Metallic Foil and Holographic Foil are also available.

A wide range of pigment colors foils are available. The color swatches below are for reference only. Please specify the specific Pantone color code in the comments section of the checkout page. We will notify you if this color is available and, if not, what colors are available in the same range. There are two ways to apply foil to your documents.

Option #1: Using a Foil Fuser

The first method to apply foil (foil fusing) is by using a Foil Fuser. Our 1" core foil rolls are compatible with our complete line of foil fusing machines. The equipment takes these rolls of foil and applies them with a heated roller, (similar to the way a roll laminator applies laminating film) however, the foil only sticks to where there is dry toner.

Option #2: Using a Pouch Laminator:

The second method is by using your heated Pouch Laminator. You can apply foil using many of our pouch laminators by cutting the foil out to the size you want. Simply place the foil over the desired location, insert the paper and foil into a carrier, and the run it through the pouch laminator.
