The Formax FD-280 Double-Head Tabbing System creates mail-ready pieces by applying multiple edge tabs per piece in various positions, processing over 15,000 pieces per hour. Speed up the mailing process three-fold with the option of applying up to 3 tabs per pass. With user-friendly controls, it has the ability to change between 1" and 1.5" tabs simply by flipping a switch. Using "crash tab" technology, the edge of the mail piece is fed into the FD-280 where it contacts an adhesive tab and travels through a set of rollers where the tab is tightly folded and sealed, creating a mail-ready piece.

With postal regulations changing, having a dependable and efficient tabber can make your mailings compliant with very little effort. The FD-280 provides a short paper path with no need for skewing adjustment, and high productivity because the short edge of the document feeds through the machine, increasing production rates at any given speed. Accuracy is also key, as the tabs fold tight to the edge of the piece, without drifting from left to right.

A variety of 1" and 1.5" tab stocks can be used with the FD-280 Tabbing Machine, including clear, translucent and paper. Built-in waste take-up spools reduce down time, and for increased efficiency, tabs can be fed fan-folded or from rolls for higher volume. The FD 280 can also be used in-line with other tabletop labelers, feeders, printers and folders, including the Formax FD 342, FD 382 and FD 38X.

The included FD-280-10 Heavy Duty Feeder allows operators to input a stack of up to 12" of material to be tabbed, up to 3/8" thick. The FD 280-10 feeder features friction feed, reinforced paper guides, card stack pressure plates, oscillating feeder rolls, and twin separators.

Optional Accessories:

• FD260-20 Exit Conveyor: Offers adjustable speed from 0 - 120 fpm, and stacks tabbed pieces in a neat, sequential order for easy removal.
• FD-280-20 High Volume Tab Delivery Module: Handles rolls of up to 150,000 tabs, which reduces down-time caused by reloading tabs.
