Did You Know? A pitch is the ratio reflecting the number of holes punched per inch of paper. The Akiles CoilMac ECI Plus punches 4 holes for every inch along the binding edge. The pitches vary with different pieces of equipment as well as the plastic coil supplies. Therefore, a 4:1 pitch machine will only work with 4:1 pitch supplies.

Maintenance Tip: If punching clear covers, punch a sheet of wax paper a few times afterward to clean off any residue left on the punching pins.

The CoilMac ECI Plus features die disengagement pins that allow for a clean punch with multiple paper sizes. This feature is ideal for those who will be punching any sheet size other than letter, as it allows you to control how many holes you page has, giving you the capability to eliminate half of a hole punch on the end of your sheet. The punching margin control provides the correct punch-margin-depth for each spiral binding coil size while maximizing the document's tear resistance. The deeper set the holes are, the stronger the bind will be. The open punching throat and continuous punching guide allow for an easy alignment and punching of documents larger that 13". The electric spiral binding coil inserter is foot pedal operated, allowing the free use of both hands and granting the operator complete rotating control of the roller. This drastically reduces time and costs by making the inserting surprisingly fast and easy. The Coilmac ECI Plus includes a Spiral Binding Diameter Guide as well as a pair of our Cutter Crimper Pliers, making this unit a full finishing solution.

The Coilmac ECI Plus punches oval holes in a true 4:1 pitch, making Spiral Binding 50% faster & much easier! The CoilMac ECI Plus features 4mm x 5mm oval holes that make the coil insertion process easier & faster than ever before. Because a Plastic Spiral Binding Coil is a continuous spiral, the oval holes provide a clear path for the coil as it is inserted into the book. No more struggling over coil that is caught on a sheet in your book! The Akiles "Plus" machines are the first & only pieces of equipment in their class to offer this advanced feature.
