Replacing the knife on your Challenge Spartan 150A, 150SA and 150AEP electric cutters is very important to ensure you are always getting a perfect cut, without straining and wearing down the machine. The power of the electric system will push even a dull blade through your stack, but when a dull blade is used the machine works much harder and will wear down quicker. Inlay Knife:
Inlay knives (INL) are made of a bi-metallic composition that consists of one part high allow tool steel and one part standard grade steel. A special fusion process bonds these two grades of steel together to produce a high quality knife at an economical price.
Approximate knife life: 8 hours or 1,200 cycles*.

High Speed Steel:
High speed steel knives (HHS) are made of a bi-metallic composition consisting of one part 18% tungsten high speed steel and one part standard grade steel. A special fusion process bonds these two grades of steel together to produce an extremely wear-resistant knife. Offers a three to five time longer life than standard inlay knives.
