For producing high volumes of calendars, we suggest the James Burn® PB3300, the Rhin-O-Tuff HD7000, or the Rhin-O-Tuff HD7700. All three units are high capacity electric punches. The PB3300 also includes a built-in wire closer for convenience. Both the HD7000 or HD7700 can be coupled with the HD8000 Manual Wire Closer, which can either mount on top of the punches or be used as a stand alone unit. For faster production, the Rhin-O-Tuff punches can also be coupled with the new James Burn® EB3500 Electric Wire Closer, creating an entirely efficient table-top Wire-O® binding system.
Each electric punch we have selected for high volume is designed for interchangeable dies. We suggest using the 3:1 square die with or without the thumbcut. The thumbcut is only necessary when using the wire calendar hangers.
For supplies, we suggest using the 1/4" Wire-O® binding elements when producing a standard 12 page calendar. Additional sizes are available.
The wire is also available to purchase on spools. Again, we suggest using the 1/4" diameter for the standard 12 page calendar. Like the 11" Wire-O® additional sizes of spooled wire are available.
You might also consider laminating the pages of your calendar. This helps to protect the sheets from spills and damage from the sun. For high volume, we suggest the Lamitek SL14 Pro Pouch Laminator, which is an outstanding machine that blows away the competition. This laminator is great for heavy ink coverage and photographs.
