Baum is known throughout the industry for their reliable, rugged and compact paper folding machines. The Baum 714XA offers all of the rugged features of the popular manual setup Baum 714XLT folder, and then adds automation and state-of-the-art features to meet today’s output and modern demands.
The 714XA includes a state of the art PLC touch screen microprocessor control that has a unique troubleshooting section. This is available to the operator to simply use the touch screen panel to utilize the self diagnostic indicators built into the folder. The main folder operating functions can be checked for complete input and output signals via the indicators on the trouble shooting screen.
The 714XA AutoFold Paper Folder is equipped with multiple devices in the design to combat the ever prevalent problem of static electricity. Baum has added special static cords at two key locations in the folder. One cord is located in the base of the feed table, just below the bottom sheet of paper. This cord is placed so that every sheet that is fed is passed above this cord to help remove static. The second cord is located at the exit end of the folder, placed just below that folded sheet as it exits the folder to again help pull out the static charge. A third device is an in-line ionizing tube that helps to reduce static in the air blow line from the air blast from the compressor for the folder. Also, the use of a static dissipative urethane compound in the manufacturing of the folding rollers.
On-screen directions guide you through each step. The microprocessor automatically determines the position for the paper stops and the delivery stacker wheels, and moves them for you accordingly. You can also implement minor fold changes and adjustment using the control panel to change the fold length and delivery wheels in small or large increments. Store custom fold job setups in the 714XA memory and recall them later with the push of a button.
Glossy & coated stock is never a problem thanks to the Flexifold's vacuum feed system. It also performs superbly well for folding high-speed copier and laser-printed sheets.
